Electric Compressor Inverter Application Engineer (g/n)


Location: Frankfurt am Main



Your main role is the application of the power electronics of Electric Compressors against new or updated internal or customer standards with focus on function, reliability and cost. 

Job Profile:

Conduct and support design and development of power electronics to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
Running power electronics design simulations
Perform worst case analysis and simulations to ensure compliance to requirements
Specification of key power electronics components and datasheet analysis of parts, considering lead time, availability, price, alternatives and qualify the components to meet specifications
Testing the power electronics in the laboratory within the specifications
Loss analyses and thermal modelling for the power electronics building block and defining the requirements for cooling-unit
Develop and maintain electrical D-FMEA
Working closely with supply chain and partners/suppliers
Innovation on new technical ideas for patent applications and future product generations
Writing of technical specifications and design reports
Work on the base development of Electric Compressor Inverters
Design applications of Inverters
Cooperate with- and manage Inverter Engineering / external partners
Support purchasing in supplier evaluations and selections
Manage and conduct E/E testing for inverter releases internal and for customer product releases
Support Product- and Project Engineers in E/E subjects towards internal department and customers – Work out and conduct E/E trainings for Sales and Project Engineers
Develop and test new inverter technologies together with E/E department and external partners-Professional experience in power electronics and circuit technique
Strong communication skills at all levels
Fluent English language skills
Intercultural competence

Your Profile/Skill-Set: 

Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering degree or Superior
Well established knowledge of High Voltage DC/DC converters
Ability to use CAN/Networking tools such as INCA, CANalyser, CANoe
Fluent English, ideally also German
